Jack Andriano - Bio

Jack Andriano resides in Vigo Galicia Spain, an area in the Northwest corner of Spain that’s well-known for fishing and shipbuilding.  Yet when you view Jack’s art, you are immediately captured by an exciting combination of Urban Art and Pop Art, mixed with his love for American movie icons.  Jack calls his style “Urban-Pop Art.”  If you were to meet Jack at a local Galician café, you would swear he is Johnny Depp.

Jack was born the oldest of three children in Mexico. By the time he was ten he knew that he would be an artist; he loved drawing comics because of the interesting characters and vibrant colors. At fifteen years of age Jack decided to leave his family, move to Los Angeles, and pursue his dream of becoming an artist.  At this time, the early 1990’s, street art was one of the fastest growing art styles.  These are the inspirations that drove Jack to develop his fresh style of Pop/Street Art with a strong lead character and a touch humor.  “I want to create art that is cool, fun and colorful.  I use layers of color and mixed media to make a statement, much like Andy Warhol but for my generation,” said Jack.

After eighteen years living and studying the art and culture of America, Jack moved to Spain to continue his growth and development as an artist.  He finds inspiration in new styles, cultures, and influences, saying “living in a more serene environment has made me a more patient artist.  I love the process of creating a new painting.  It’s as if little-by-little the painting begins speaking to me as each layer unveils a new message.”  He adds, “Painting is like cooking.  As you add ingredients each must complement the others, yet each must also add something specific and unique.  I don’t want to cook boring food and I don’t want to create boring art; food and art should be fun.”

Jack Andriano’s artwork has captured the attention of collectors from around the world.  He has exhibited his art on three continents and, in 2019, his work was featured in the Australian Curatorial Art Capsule book.
